Exhibition in Suomenlinna Museum

 

Located in the Suomenlinna Centre, the Suomenlinna Museum is open all year round. The permanent exhibition showcases the history of the fortress through utensils, tools, cannons and scale models. You can learn more about various themes using touchscreen-operated picture books. The upper floor of the museum showcases the extensive restoration work carried out at the fortress and its nature. Annually changing special exhibitions present Suomenlinna through history and art.

Entrance fee 8/4€ (adult/child). Museum Card is valid in Suomenlinna Museum. Admission is free with a Helsinki Card.

Accessibility: The museum is located on two floors in the Suomenlinna Centre. The exhibition on the ground floor has wheelchair access.

Arrival

The ferry service of the Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) operates round the year to Suomenlinna from the Market Square, and from Katajanokka from Monday to Friday.

Ferries depart from the Market Square every hour during winter and every 15 minutes during summer weekends. The maintenance ferry from Katajanokka only operates from Monday to Friday between 7:25 am and 3:30 pm. For more detailed timetables, please visit www.hsl.fi/en or the Suomenlinnan Liikenne website. You can buy HSL ferry tickets from HSL service outlets, the mobile app or the ticket vending machine at the Market Square.

During the summer, from mid-May until mid-September, Suomenlinna can be accessed by JT-Line ferries, which depart from the Cholera Basin at the Market Square. Ferries stop at Suomenlinna in the Artillery Bay and the King’s Gate, and on the way at the Island of Lonna.
